Issuing A Conception

Issuing A Conception

And so it is to paint about doubt. To convey the nature of a quandary, a situation in which the artist indicates choices rather than judging one of them best and then signing it complete. It has led to a lush proliferation of ambiguity that is felt, despite the elusiveness of its meaning.

Not so much an abstractionist in the reductive mode as an essentializer searching for form that expresses the emotional ties binding people to places. The increasing degree of social isolationism in this supposedly media-permeated culture.

I express a somber bewilderment at the way images become interchangeable and thus arbitrary, no matter how deeply felt. The strongest feelings seem to be generated by the possibility that revealing something, anything, might be the equivalent to saying nothing.

The idiom of sensibilities is displaced. Digital individuality is an immense burden, a axiomatic invisibility, where life turns into an examination of one’s lack of tradition.
